Little Edit is a photo editor that runs entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.
Your photos never leave your device.
Everything the app does to a photo — effects, stickers, text, the date stamp and blemish retouching — happens in the app on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no server that could receive it. Face detection for blemish retouching uses Apple's on-device Vision framework; it measures where a face is in order to know where to look for blemishes, and produces no data that leaves the device.
Edited copies are written to your photo library only when you tap Save, and only as new files. Your originals are not modified or deleted.
Little Edit uses face data only when you choose a photo and tap the blemish retouch control. The app temporarily processes the pixels of that photo and uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to produce a face bounding box and coordinate points for the face outline, eyes, eyebrows, outer lips and nose. The app also creates temporary coordinates and masks for possible blemishes.
On iOS, before face analysis runs for the first time, Little Edit explains this use and asks for your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app's Settings by turning off Allow on-device face analysis. After withdrawal, no further face analysis takes place unless you consent again. Only your consent choice is stored on the device; it is not Face Data.
This information is used only to locate the skin area, avoid retouching facial features such as the eyes and lips, show possible blemishes for you to select, and apply the retouching you request. Little Edit does not use face data to identify or authenticate anyone, create a face template or profile, infer identity, demographics, emotion or health, train a model, or for analytics, advertising or marketing.
All face-data processing takes place on your device. Face coordinates, landmarks, blemish coordinates and masks are held only in the app's temporary memory for the active editing session. They are not written to persistent storage, uploaded, transmitted, shared, sold or disclosed to the developer or any third party. They are discarded when the retouch is applied, when you leave the editor or open another photo, or when the app terminates. The app has no server that receives face data.
Separately, to make the Recent Photos feature work, the app keeps local copies of up to seven recently opened photos and small thumbnails inside the app's private storage on your device. The oldest local copy is deleted automatically when an eighth photo is added. These local files never leave the device and all remaining copies are deleted when you delete the app.
You can withdraw either permission at any time in iOS Settings. The app keeps working with whatever you allow.
The settings screen shows a short list of the developer's other apps. To do that
the app downloads a small file of names, icons and store links from
demeroa.github.io, at most once a day, and caches it.
That request contains nothing about you or your photos. As with any web request, the server that answers it can see your IP address and the time of the request. GitHub hosts that file; their privacy practices are their own.
If the request fails the section simply does not appear.
Purchases — the premium unlock, the sticker pack, and tips for the developer — are handled entirely by Apple. The app is told what you own so it can unlock the right things. It never sees your payment details, and it does not record who tipped or how much.
Your language choice, whether sounds are on, your saved-photo quality setting, your face-analysis consent choice, your favourite looks, up to seven recently opened photos and which purchases you own. All of it stays on the device and is removed when you delete the app.
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
